Arkansas Lyme Foundation
The Arkansas Lyme Foundation was created to help those who are infected with Lyme disease (Borrelia Burgdorferi) and other tick-borne diseases in the state of Arkansas. Our mission is to provide resources and support to those seeking diagnosis/treatment in the state of Arkansas, as well as provide education and awareness to Physicians and other Arkansans.
About Our Foundation
Founded in 2016, the Arkansas Lyme Foundation has been working hard with the help of our members and volunteers to help create change in Arkansas. Our work is dedicated to improving the lives of those who are suffering from Lyme Disease.

Informing the Public
One of the main reasons the Arkansas Lyme Foundation was founded in 2016 was to bring awareness to the presence of Lyme disease in Arkansas. Our goal is to will increase awareness among the public, media, medical establishment, and most importantly, the policy makers who have the power to reform the system that shapes our state's policy on Lyme disease. Through our efforts, we have finally proven that Lyme disease exists in Arkansas, but now we need to let the public know how to prevent, diagnose and treat this horrible disease. Physician Resources
Educating Medical Professionals
We feel one of the biggest obstacles in front of us is the education of the current healthcare professionals in Arkansas. We recognized that many Lyme patients go unrecognized since so many physicians' practices and procedures vary. When patients are delayed on diagnosis and treatment, Lyme can become a lifelong struggle. For so long physicians were told Lyme didn’t exist here in Arkansas, that now we even have a belief problem. We are working to develop a standardized brochure for physicians to consult to best treat their patients who have Lyme disease.

We sound the siren of need for strong state support of Lyme disease research among lawmakers, health groups and the public.
